Video “Leather Leather” LP Out Now!

Video Leather Leather UPDATE: For those who missed out the first time around, a second pressing is now available! Pick one up from the label or in our store! Play Pinball Records released a cool disc earlier this month with “Leather Leather”, the debut full length LP from Texas punks Video. Featuring members of The Wax museums, Bad Sports, Wiccans, and Silver Shampoo, the band plays psych influenced KBD style punk rock. From the label:

“Denton TX’s VIDEO began intending to sound like a mix between CRIME, CHROME, and CREAM. However, the twelve songs on this debut LP, “LEATHER LEATHER”, end up sounding like your record collection melted into one solid album. Ranging from songs that have the primal pounding of FLIPPER, the space jam sessions of HAWKWIND, and the lyrical bent of early ALICE COOPER and STICK MEN WITH RAY GUNS, VIDEO’s debut album should shatter all preconceptions of what Denton’s punk scene can produce.”

The LP is limited to 500 copies and is packaged in a die-cut jacket, with a printed inner sleeve. You can pick it up direct from the label for $14. Check out the killer album track “Red Pills” below!

Black Mountain’s Year Zero Soundtrack Out April 3rd

Black Mountain - Year Zero Soundtrack We’re just a few weeks out from the latest release by Vancouver’s Black Mountain- Year Zero: The Original Soundtrack will be released April 3rd by Jagjaguwar. Consisting of a mix of new and previously unreleased tracks, the music was all used in Year Zero, an apocalyptic surf movie released last year. From the label:

“Black Mountain’s Year Zero soundtrack is nothing less than the band’s full, balls-out glory distilled down to one dense, 45-minute acid tab of music. Featuring five new songs and five previously released songs, the Year Zero soundtrack weaves crunching, analog psych metal; futuristic droneouts; and, somehow, a twisted saxaphone ditty.”

Pre-orders for the vinyl are available over at Insound now. Check out the new track “Mary Lou” as well as a trailer for the film below! Black Mountain – “Mary Lou” by Jagjaguwar

Three Epic New Tracks From The Entrance Band Out Soon

Entrance Band Latitudes Heavy psych power-trio The Entrance Band have a new disc coming out March 19th for Southern Records. Latitudes contains three epic new tracks (New Orleans, Requiem For Juicy, and Last Kind Words), and clocks in at just under 30 minutes. From the label:

“This session was recorded just after the band’s appearance at All Tomorrow’s Parties curated by Animal Collective, and the three tracks laid down are absolutely the finest elixir produced by our favourite power trio. Fluid, emotional and organically multiplying grooves which can only fail to warm the coldest of bones as we follow TEB on a journey through acidified subterranean raga rock, serpent-charming drone, and crunked up psychedelic blues.”

The LP is limited to 500 hand numbered copies, all on yellow 180 gram vinyl, and comes in a die-cut, foil stamped jacket. Pre-orders are available now from the label for $24. Check out the track “Last Kind Words” below!

Fat Possum Now Taking Pre-oreders For Spiritualized “Sweet Heart Sweet Light” LP

Spiritualized Sweet Heart Sweet Light It was nearly one year ago today that Fat Possum made the announcement that they hadsigned Spiritualized to their label. Now, a year later, the wait is nearly over for Spiritualized‘s 7th album, Sweet Heart Sweet Light, to be released. With a street date of April 17th, the label has started taking pre-orders for the new record. You can snag a copy on vinyl for $14 here. From the label:

“Shortly after recording Sweet Heart Sweet Light – in far flung locales such as Los Angeles, Reykavik and Wales – Jason found himself weakened by a degenerative liver disease and was subjected to six months of chemo treatment, a procedure that left him virtually housebound while he mixed the album. In a classic case of triumph over tribulation, the resulting album is Spiritualized at their most vibrant; full voiced and utterly sublime. In Jason Spaceman’s orbit rock and roll is the salve and listeners will hear all of the epic grandiosity and brain worming melodies for which they’re renowned, as well as the gorgeous gospel delium that makes hearing a new Spiritualized album an exhilarating and emotional experience.”

Check out the album’s lead track “Hey Jane” below!
